授課的主要內容為Library Bill of Rights

共有以下六條:
1.Books and other library resources should be provided
for the interest, information, and enlightenment of all
people of the community the library services. Materials
should not be excluded because of the origin,
background, or views of those contributing to their creation.
圖書館應滿足所服務社區內民眾的興趣和資訊需求。資料
也不能因為背景、種族、觀點等因素而被排除。

2.Libraries should provide materials and information
presenting all points of view on current and historical
issues. Materials should not be proscribed or removed
because of partisan or doctrinal disapproval.
圖書館應該提供過去和現在所有觀點的資料和資訊。資
料不應該因為個人或教義不同而遭到排除。

3.Libraries should challenge censorship in the fulfillment of
their responsibility to provide information and enlightenment.
圖書館應該為提供資訊和啟發的責任而挑戰檢察制度。

4.Libraries should cooperate with all persons and groups
concerned with resisting abridgment of free expression
and free access to ideas.
圖書館應該和個人或團體合作，關心那些被剝奪自由表達
和自由思想之事。

5.A person's right to use a library should not be denied or
abridged because of origin, age, background, or views.
一個人使用圖書館的權利不應該因為種族、年紀、背景、觀
點等原因而遭到排除。

6.Libraries which make exhibit spaces and meeting rooms
available to the public they serve should make such facilities
available on an equitable basis, regardless of the beliefs or
affiliations of individuals or groups requesting their use.
具有展覽空間和會議廳的圖書館應提供公平使用的機會。

以上就是ALA所提出的六條圖書館權利宣言
