說明Collection Overviews Intruduction & General Statement

出自美國國會圖書館的網站

●美國國會圖書館擁有超過138萬部館藏。

●自從1880年建立以來，圖書館收集資料不論其語言、格
式、學科。為一的例外為圖書館政策中有關臨床醫療及專
門農耕領域的資料，因為他們是由the National Library
of Medicine and the National Agricultural Library這兩所
圖書館所負責。

●美國國會圖書館應收藏下列三種館藏:
1.All books and other library materials necessary to the
Congress and the various officers of the Federal
Government to perform their duties.
2.All books and other materials that record the life and
achievement of the American people.
3.Records of other societies, past and present, especially
of those societies and peoples whose experience is of
the most immediate concern to the people of the
United States.

每次上到美國國會圖書館的網站的時候都很容易聽不懂，
查字典的速度跟不上老師講解的速度，需要回去的時候再
仔細查一遍，才能看得懂。看原文真不是一件簡單的事啊。
